The most recent iteration of the IC3 Digital Literacy curriculum is called GS6, or Global Standard 6 of Digital Literacy. In order to better meet educational standards, this curriculum has been rebuilt to cover modern computing ideas, such as cloud and mobile technologies, and to make sure that students of all ages can demonstrate their mastery of digital literacy. Candidates who pass the IC3 Digital Literacy exam will be able to show that they have the skills necessary to obtain trustworthy information, produce content, collaborate effectively, and communicate safely in contemporary digital environments. They will also be able to recognize credibility and prejudice.
The new framework consists of a full set of stackable credentials covering seven different areas of digital literacy. It consists of three exams, each of which grants a separate certificate, validating knowledge of each topic at the fundamental, intermediate, and advanced levels.
The IC3 Digital Literacy Master Certification and Master Badge, which demonstrate an advanced mastery of the concepts and principles within the IC3 Digital Literacy program objective areas, are given to candidates who successfully pass all three Global Standard Six certification exams.
